Thomas Schwarz Muschelkalk 2017

Updated: Jun 5, 2021

13% abv. Cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc. Purbach, Burgenland

A charming yellow with orange hues in the glass. Fresh, citric aromas of tart green apples, lemon zest and gently crushed pine nuts. There is a kiss of butterscotch in the background and walnuts. Lively and fresh. This is teeming with youthful energy, purity and the spirit of those endlessly long summer days in June. A mineral driven salinity on the palate is the first hint this wine is something special. Waves of lemon and yellow apple and bright acidity all come together in a luxuriously smooth well-rounded medium finish. If you are looking for a superb white to accompany those summer dishes of grilled fish, caramelized pork or even a creamy risotto, this is your wine. Elegant, complex yet approachable. Will age well over the next 10 years or so. Bio.
