An alluring bouquet of violet, dark cherry, and blackberry emerge from the glass with little coaxing. Great purity of expression here as the Blaufränkisch expands on the palate, resonating with Lutzmannsburg sunshine and dusty crushed gravel from the Leitha hills. Warm and vibrant on the palate, with dense layers of red and black fruit, dark cherry very much in the foreground, however. Superb balance. Tannins are fine and delicious, but slightly granular which only adds to the sensational mouthfeel. A touch of the untamed forest and rock of St. Georgen. Drinking beautifully now but will reach even greater heights after 2024.
