Feiler Artinger Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

14% abv. Rust am See, Burgenland.

Deep purple with ruby hues. Blackcurrant on the nose, some nougat. A touch of black cherry and cassis. Some eucalyptus notes and cedar linger around the edges. Soft and round in the mouth but with fine tannins providing some grip and texture - very much the calling card of the very good 2016 vintage. Excellent structure and balance. After a 24 hour decant, the wine was even better. As always this wine has the Kurt Feiler signature of elegance and purity, unforced and relaxed, that gives it a very special touch. Still a very young wine, however, so best let it rest for a few more years. Drinking window 2022 - 2030. Spontaneous fermentation in steel and matured in 50% new oak. Screw cap. Biodynamic.
